Concrete Pontoon Docks
Conch Island at Phase 1 of Qinhuangdao International Cruise Yacht Port

Project Overview
Structure: Concrete + Aluminum Alloy Pontoon
Quantity of Berths: 46
Yacht Accommodation: 30 ~ 60 Feet

1. We proposed a tailored scheme of combining concrete pontoon with aluminum alloy pontoon for our clients, which is the first yacht docks project in Hebei province. In other hand, pontoons were used for the outermost, which has a good effect of wave elimination, while aluminum alloy pontoon is used for other areas.

The project sits in the west area of Qinhuangdao Port, Hebei Province. As the reclamation shape of the harbor basin is like a conch, it is named Conch Island. The project plans to build nearly 800 multi-specification marina berths, and we are responsible for the construction of 46 berths in the first phase.

Considering the large area of the harbor basin, the wave height within the harbor exceeds 0.5m during monsoon weather in May each year. To adapt local conditions, we proposed a scheme of combining concrete pontoon with aluminum alloy pontoon. In another way, concrete pontoons were used for the outermost, which has a good effect of wave elimination, while aluminum alloy pontoon is used for other areas. Through scientific calculation and monitoring under actual monsoon conditions, the combined pontoon system can meet the safety requirements of berthing. In addition, the project also designed and built an octagonal 10m*10m aluminum alloy platform to hold the club daily activities.
